Skin Rejuvenation
Mainstream thinking is still that those wishing to banish their wrinkles need to rely on cosmetic surgery, off-the-shelf creams, or non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as injected synthetic collagen (fillers) or Botox (neurotoxin from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum). Whilst each has its advantages, none provides a long-lasting, natural way of combatting the most noticeable signs of ageing – loss of volume, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Skin has a natural elasticity which comes from cells known as fibroblasts, which themselves produce collagen, a substance known to help maintain the skin’s natural structure. However, the number of these fibroblast cells decreases with age, therefore limiting the skin’s elasticity too. By introducing a patient’s own stem cells into the affected areas, we can help the body produce more fibroblasts and therefore collagen. This ensures the body’s natural ability to produce sufficient fibroblasts to maintain elasticity and keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. Other treatments available to achieve facial skin rejuvenation can include PRP therapy and mesotherapy. PRP therapy uses platelets harvested from the patient’s own blood. These platelets are reinjected into the face, to stimulate new cell growth, helping to improve complexion, skin texture, pigmentation and to increase skin density which may have been lost with age. Mesotherapy works by injecting natural substances found in the body such as collage, vitamins and hyaluronic acid, directly into the skin to boost the cells in their ability to regenerate.
At the Stem Cell Clinic, we use regenerative skin rejuvenation therapies to achieve many results including:
- Rejuvenation of the face
- Complete non-surgical facelift with ‘living filler’ – Fat transfer
- Improved appearance of the back of the hands
- Smoother and more radiant décolletage
- Body contouring treatments
